ARISE & SHINE – HANUKKAH

“Arise, shine: for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall rise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:1-2 KJV).

On this first day of Hanukkah in the year of 2015, we are reminded of the first day of creation where God said: “Let there be light.”

An early Midrash spoke that “The tabernacle is equal to the creation of the world,’ and then proceeds to reveal that Day One of creation corresponds to the Holy of Holies. A Midrash is simply a way to expound on Scripture by going into the text and grabbing principles, concepts and understanding.

We are the Temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19), and the Holy of Holies is where the Ark of His Presence resides within His people. It’s the Kingdom of God within, if you will (Luke 17:21).

If each of us personally take the “arise, shine” message of Isaiah 60:1 to heart, we need to take into account the darkness that accompanies it. Ian Clayton spoke much on darkness last week. He said: “Darkness controls the secrets, and kings reveal secrets.”

Yeshua (Jesus) is our Pattern Son. In the deep darkness of this earth, the glory of the LORD rose upon Him. Furthermore, after Yeshua laid His life down for all of us on the cross, He first descended before He ascended: “But to each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Messiah. Therefore He says, ‘When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.’ Now this, ‘He ascended,’ what is it but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things” (Ephesians 4:7-10 HNV).

Since we have been made in the exact same image as the Pattern Son, we will do the same as we journey unto perfection.

Before the third epiphaneous appearance of Yeshua on Dec 4, 1999, He led me to “Scuba Dive in the Spirit.” I was instructed to go a level deeper into myself and look for Yeshua there. Once I found Him, we stayed at that level until Yeshua told me it’s time to go a level deeper. He led me to descend into the Kingdom of God within. At each level, Yeshua, His Blood and the Cross of Christ prepared me to go deeper as well as being able to ascend. I literally was in two places at once.

May each of us go within and let His searchlight reveal the darkness that covers our earth, so we can arise and shine so the glory of the Lord can be seen upon us!
