MARRIAGE CONTRACT – HANUKKAH 8

Won’t you celebrate the King of Kings? The root meaning to the word “feast” in 2 Chronicles 8:13 tells us that at God’s Appointed Feasts (that are in His Word) He is calling us together at a particular time to a particular place so we can marry Him. Can’t you hear Him calling devout hearts everywhere? Can you hear Him saying: Won’t you come to Me? Won’t you join Me at My Feasts at My Table (Leviticus 23:2; 1 Corinthians 10:21)?

Please note that at the same time Aaron made an altar according to God’s specifications, took the people’s gold and made a golden calf idol, Moses received the nation’s ketubah (i.e., marriage contract) on the mountain of God, which contained the Ten Commandments.

The number “eight” in Scripture signifies a new beginning. Therefore, it’s very appropriate on this eighth and final day of Hanukkah to consider what we are choosing this day: The Golden Calf or His Marriage Contract.

We have discussed how Hanukkah is all about overthrowing an Antichrist and his polluted sun god sacrifices placed on God’s Altar, which is essentially Christmas. Unbeknownst to many Christians, we have actually been doing what the first named Antichrist did and have been calling it true worship. In 168 BC on December 25th, Antiochus Epiphanes IV set up a statue of a pagan sun god on the Altar in God’s Temple to be worshiped; and then, sacrificed a pig on that same altar.We are His Temple and our hearts are His Altar. Believers have lost track of the fact that throughout antiquity all the pagan sun gods’ birthdays were celebrated on the ancient winter solstice – December 25th – our modern Christmas Day.
